Dr. Lauren Reba-HarrelsoN
Clinical Practice. Dr. Reba-Harrelson directs a private practice in clinical psychology, where she conducts psychotherapy and psychological evaluations with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. She provides in-person therapy and assessments in McDonough, GA, and the greater Atlanta area. Through PSYPACT, she is also certified to practice tele-psychology across most of the United States. She works with persons with a wide array of psychological difficulties and uses gold-standard approaches to therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed treatment. Dr. Reba-Harrelson also conducts comprehensive psychological assessments and psychological testing for various clinical concerns and referral issues. She conducts both virtual and in-person therapy and evaluations.
Education. Dr. Reba-Harrelson received her A.B. with Honors, from Brown University. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, one of the top three programs in Clinical Psychology in the United States. She completed her clinical internship at the prestigious program at the UCLA School of Medicine, Semel Institute of Neuroscience. Dr. Reba-Harrelson gained further expertise through completng postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Southern California School of Medicine.
Faculty and Research. Dr. Reba-Harrelson is Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Emory University School of Medicine. In the Department of Psychiatry, her academic work focuses on mental health, multiculturalism, treatment, assessment, and legal issues.
Forensic Practice. Dr. Reba-Harrelson directs a separate forensic practice, conducting psychological evaluations and providing consultation on diverse issues at the intersection of psychology and the law.
